Where can I get an A/C #479068 07/22/04 05:23 PM

I need to get an A/C for my truck. It gets hot here in Texas. I can't drive it anymore. Any suggestions on where I might be able to get a decent a/c system to install?

Pull the complete setup from a junk yard. I did this with an old Celica and everything bolted right up.

What about the interior parts? I know the condensor coil has to be in line with the blower. The other aftermarket systems I have seen set in front of the gear shift in the middle were the stereo is now. That contains the condensor coil.

The condensor mounts in the engine compartment in front of the radiator. You're talking about the evaporator, and if you pulled that from a donor truck with the rest of the system methinks it would fit just fine.

You could also buy a brand new system at www.ackits.com, but it would be a tad over $600. Doh!

Hey Lone star,

I got an entire A/C system I just pulled from my 85 4runner. COmpressor, all lines, condenser, etc. It comes with everything but the electrical stuff and the bracket that mounts to the engine block. Everything works.

How does $100 shipped sound? You can post here or PM me. I am in San Jose CA.

If he's not interested, I might take the lines and compressor off ya if they're in good shape. I guess just put me next in line!
