--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay I have a 03 3.4 supercharged tacoma. I have the urd kit and have had it on for a few months now with only a random light here and there.(they read o2) things got a little off yesterday. I has coming to a stop and pushed in the clutch and started to shift from second to first when the truck just died!!(no stutering,no signs of it going to happen). I was blasting my music and thought maybe i let the clutch out and killed it.(but it didn't have any jerking at all and i am sure that i didn't kill it) so i just blew it off as a freak accident that happened. then later that day i was about to make a right hand turn and had the clutch in again and went to do the turn and i had no power sterring!!! come to find out the truck had died again. then i drove around for a few hours with no problem. Later that night i went out to start my truck and as soon as the rpms reached the idle level they started to drop in a smooth motion and died. If i remember my idle was just above 1000 rpm's when it was running good now it will switch from 650-800-1000 on and off and it feels like my truck is going to die when it reaches the 650. the truck runs fine when i give it gas and am driving i have no problems!! any thoughts?? fuel pump,ftc,o2, TB??? i have no idea any info will help red

UPDATE PART 1!!

Okay i was told that it might be the TB gasket in backwards. But i installed my urd kit months ago and have not had this problem untill now. But i checked it anyways and all is in order on that one. So i let it just run at idle in N in the driveway and for most of the time it did run at about 1000RPMS which seems to be a good spot. But every so often it would dip down below that and you could hear the truck give it more fuel to try to bring it back up or it could be that what ever makes it go down only lasts a few seconds. Now doesn't my FTC control all of my fuel and not the truck? I am lost on this one and need help! red

Could this have been the problem? only time will tell i am taking it out tonight and will update everyone in the mourning and see if any of you have any more ideas. red

UPDATE PART 3

okay i did the fuel fliter and added some isop. alc. just in case water was the cuase and everything is running fine as of the last 12 hours. I have found that it idels at 1000 when first started and as it warms up and raises in temp the idle drops down to around 700 give or take. Is this what it is supposed to do? RED

My 99' v-6 idles at about 1800 immediately after a cold start (80-90 F ambient temps) and as it warms up the idle settles to about 700rpm.

I also have the URD kit and have not had several of the problems that you speak of. However, I did have a check engine light come on a few time after the install. After many many hours of tuning both in car, and dyno, it seems that I am leaning out at about 4800rpm. During the dyno runs, we threw tons of fuel at the engine at these ranges and it did not matter...still lean. It appears that I may have a dirty filter. I remember when I did the install the fuel tank was full of this white floating crap. Almost like paper that did not disolve. It could have been the sticker adhesive that I found floating around inside my tank when I droped it. Anyway, I think you nailed it...dirty fuel filter. I am going to drop my tank and clean it thouroughly before I change my filter. BTW, how does your truck run? I had mine dyno'd at 267 torque, and 249 horse at the rear tires. I was impressed and the guy from split second said those were some of the highest numbers he had seen. Just curious to see how the rest of you are doing. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />
