Getting the Wheeling Fever
There is something about their lines which is very retro classic. Reminicent to me, of VW Microbuses, or TR-3s or Kharman Ghias. Or perhaps the original Broncos or Toyota Land Cruisers. With no offense, the straight edged models of '86-'87 have less of this charm (although I had one, and it was a fine little truck.)

Once in a while, I come across a restored, or fanatically maintained '81, with 4x4, and it knocks my sox off! And those lines are nicely echoed in the present gen Taco.

That's why I bought the Taco instead of the Tundra. It's kind of like buying a brand new classic with airbags, ABS, CD power windows and factory warranty. All that, and mine does not have a single squeak or rattle.

Body Damage is Cool
I've owned 4 Toyota Trucks and will always own Toyota's. My first was an 83' I bought in late 83' w/8K miles on it. Traded that in for an 86' with 12K on it. Kept the 86' 14 years and threw 226K miles on it. Sold it for $3500 and had an 94' for about 6 months til my employer gave me a 99' 2wd. Sold the 94'. Had the company Toy for 2 years. Left that job and bought this 99'. Had it for 1.5 years now and had my first repair last weekend. Swapped out a bad carrier bearing. $100 part.... I am throwing around the idea of selling the 99' for another 99' or 2000 with an automatic. My kind of job sucks having a stick.
