Has anyone run into a quiet all stainless steel muffler that's as quiet as the stock muffler? I have a 1997 Trooper and don't want something loud. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have the 3.2 engine in the Trooper. The stock muffler rotted out too quickly for the $450 that they want for it and I'm having a hard time trying to find something quiet in all stainless.

$450 is CRAZY. Call around to the independent muffler shops in your area - someone will have a decent muffler for $100 or so. Triple A Muffler here in Plano, TX is a great shop. They installed a Flowmaster on my '79 Bronco and did a great job. Independents are the way to go.
Good luck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

If he want a "quiet" muffler, a Flowmaster 40 aint gonna cut it.
What about a Midas lifetime warranty muffler? Stainless or not, it would sound close to stock and be warranteed.
