Who knows where to get a HO alternator?
I have a power draw somewhere in the system (lights dim when I hit the power windows)and I'm concerned as I want to install my Taurus electric fan amd probably should do this anyway.
It's a 94 and I think it's the original alternator,
I checked Mean Green but they didnt have 4Runner listed. Also I just want to drop it in, not rewire mine or fab a mount from an MR2 one.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

Mike, Check out Mr. Alternator for your high output alternator. There have been several guys with 4Runners on YotaTech.com who have installed their alternators. Ian

you cant... that wiring cannot be depended on, when the HO alt starts to spit out say 150-200 amps... and since they are all big bodied alternators, you do have to extend the mounting tab, which is no big deal...

This may or may not help you. Although I wrote this for my '85 4Runner, the discussion on options and sources may help you decide what to do. There are drop-in, they are usually expensive. For some simple bracket mods, a high power alternator (140 amps) is pretty doable. http://www.rocketcityrockcrawlers.c...ner%20Alternator%20Upgrade%20Project.pdfThanks, Al
