I sold a guy an 87 Raider two weeks ago. His plan for it was just what you have suggested. I have no idea how his swap is comming along,But he said he would keep me informed.
Well on my way to becoming that eccentric old man in every town.(crazy as a s#@thouse rat) With a yard full of desireable old vehicles that tells you, Sorry they're not for sale..... Someday I'm going to fix them.

this one came into Canada last year from Nevada, the guys sister had no license and flopped it after mashing the gas and going off the roadside up a bank, then i got it and the rear part was too macked to fix, it has 229,630 miles and has only had the head gasket and clutch done once and the chains done at225,000 miles and still starts right up and no smoke, a shame im gonna yank it all out

Welcome to the wire.. what part of BC are you from? Van? There are a few of us Canucks on here, like myself (AB), don (Van), Fhuzz (ON), and a few others that come in and out...
Good luck with the swap! Look forward to seeing the progress... PHIL

The Toyota front diff is on the wrong (passenger)side. I have a Toyota rear axle (8" 4.56) with a Detroit soft locker in the rear. This was an easy swap. I still recommend the chevy 4.3 4wd drive train, 94 or older. Bob Shaw superchief87@adelphia.net
87 Raizer, 4.3V6, Mod TH700R4,231CHD, detroit rear and LSD front, bouncy seats, 2" lift and 32x15 BFG MT tires.

If he plans on swapping the entire drivetrain, like said, then it won't matter what side the pumpkin is on.
Two MRI's and a CAT scan....it's confirmed. I'm just not right in the head.

like bob said. i also recomend 4.3 swap way more versital and as for drivetrain leave your mits. rear and put in toy front.all you need then is to swap the tcase with a full size chevy and your output is on the right side.
