I noticed that my drivers side caliper is not releasing when the pedal is released. If tapped it will mostly release. Couldn't check the pass side, but will in the morning. If both are sticking, is this bad calipers or can something else in the system be causing this? It is an '89 Toy p/u with a SAS and '83 front axle.
Thanks,
Taylor

it's the caliper/pisons/seals
if you take it apart you'll find rust/dirt and see why it sticks
rebuild or replace
the other wheel and master cylinders are suspect
including the clutch by logic

Roll Me Over
When was the last time that you completely flushed your brake fluid in your system? It is recommended every 1-2 years. Brake fluid absorbs water from the atmosphere so if you live in a high humidity area it should be done once a year. How many of us do this? Not me!!!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Many times the rubber boot that protects the caliper pistons will tear and allow moisture in. This can cause the pistons to become pitted. Eventually the pistons hang and do exactly what you are describing. I had this happen on both front calipers on my 93 T100 at about the 7 year point. Bob
