i know the duallies have full floating rears but do the non duallies? and are the axle housings any different from a regular 4wd rear?

1 ton non duallies have semi floating axles. they have the same third member as a 4x4(8") and 30 spline axles, but they're 5 lug and 56" wide. '79-85 4x4s are 55" wide, and '86-95 4x4s are 58" wide

also, 2wd are sprung-under, 4wd are sprung-over

No the non-dually 1 ton rear ends are not full floaters.

Thanks 4RnrRick for your toyota 1-ton information.I luck out on owning a 86 2WD G282 rearend.Lots of torque with stock tires 195/75 x 14" rims.
