Need a Spot
well, each time let go of the brakes, i would get a loud sqeek from the drivers rear drums. sounds like a peice of metal scraping. it only happens when there is weight on it. when i jack up the truck and try to step on the brake then let go, it won't make the noise. but as soon as you drop it and have weight on it, it'll make the annoying sqeek again. by the way, it's 95 t100. any help would be great. thanks.

Take a look at your LSPV (load sensing proportional valve) located on the passender side rear just behind the drum. Make sure it's not restricted and if need be, bleed it. This valve often times gets missed when a brake job is done. It's the last one done on a brake bleed so there's no real need to do the others.

There are contact points on the backing plates where the brake shoes touch. Make sure there is a small amount of grease on these points. These are metal to metal points and will squeak. Also a small amount of grease on all of the pivot points helps. Use a very thin coat of grease. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
