Need a Spot

Was driving on the highway yesterday and my brake light and charge light came on. then it went off and came on only when i accelerated, dim then brighter as i pressed the gas pedal. i shut off the engine, walk out for a min, came back, tried to start it it wouldnt start. no hazards, no nothing. jump started it and got it home. i bought a new battery, but still no nothing. cables are good, terminals are new. anyone know what this could be?

Replace your alternator brushes. It charges your battery while your engine is running. $16 from the dealer. Article is on this site in the Maintenance section. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Maybe the alternator is not charging. Most local parts stores will test it for free, typically you need to remove it prior.
