Getting the Wheeling Fever
I did a search and found a lot of great info. My question is..... I have a 2WD and the rim size is 15x6JJ. First, what does this mean? 15" dia and 6" wide? The 31x10.5x15 Revo's have a rim dimension of 7-9". I wasn't sure if they would fit my rim. The 31x10.5 were optional on the 4WD but not the 2WD. The owners manual calls out a rim size of 15x7JJ. Also, explain the tire size while you're at it. 31x10.5x15. 31" dia. 10.5" wide and 15" rim?

I would like to go bigger but am unsure and don't want to waste shipping getting the tires here only to have to return them. Thanks

Why bigger tires, are you driving off-road?

If you want to get bigger than stock tires, you'll probably have to get wider wheels. You'll also have to pay attention to offset/backspace measurements or else you'll risk rubbing suspension or fenders. You'll also introduce speedometer/odometer error with taller tires than stock. Stock was 235/75-15, I think.

You can surf tirerack.com for wheel/tire ideas.

Also look here for tire sizing measurements:

Confirm your rim size before you do anything. You should have 15x7's but if you have 15x6's forget about 31x10.5's.

I have 31x10.5x15's on my 15x7's and they are great!

You could pick up a set of (5) easy to find, 16x7's from a Tundra and run 265/70R16's.
These are slightly smaller than the 31x10.5x15's.

Are you running any kind of non-OEM suspension?
Oversize T-barz or AAL's?

BTW, I have a super clean set of (4) 16x7 Tundra/T100 Enkei's available...

Are those really Enkei brand wheels? What's the "S" on the center cap. I think I've seen that "S" on some on Sears' wall.

They look nice.

LOL

They are the real thing.

Enkei has a modified figure 8 logo,
the reflected sunlight is blocking it

Plus, the Toyota boxes they came in say "ENKEI"

Not looking to do offroading. I just wanted a little bigger tire to beef up the 2WD. I guess I'll stick to the 235-75R15 that I have.

No one answered my size questions. Did I make the right assumption on rim and tire designation?

Thanks for the input everyone.

15" diameter, 6" wide. You were correct so long as what's on your truck actually matches what the manual says. Tire size is as you quoted it for LT tires - 31 diameter, 10.5 width, 15 rim.

Why? If for nothing else, it looks better. I always thought the stock 2WD tires made the whole truck look small and, frankly, a little dorky (in lieu of a harsher word).

I bought my truck second hand and it came with some Enkei wheels (same as H2O_Man's : http://www.athenswater.com/images/TF.jpg ) and 30x9.5 R15 Michelin LTX M/S's. I'm not sure about the tires, but the wheels were part of the "Titan" package that SE Toyota marketed. I think it looks pretty nice, if I do say so my ownself. As far as performance goes, they've handled loads and "loose" conditions well. Only been stuck the once... I don't think I'd go smaller; don't need bigger. Probably be just as happy with steel wheels, though.

Speaking of steel wheels, I'm looking for one of THESE and a full set of correct center caps.
