Joe, I'm starting to drool!!!!!!!! That is EXACTLY the kind of vehicle I would have designed. Half the price of a D90, too.
Idaho Toyota (aka Tony): Do you have any info about that '98 for sale near you? Like a ph # or a website? Do you know anything about it?
Thanks Andrew

I don't know a whole lot about it.It's an ARO Hunter. It's at a car lot called "Time Machines" and they specialize in unique vehicles. We're about 75 miles from Sun Valley (Idaho) and he get's alot of stuff from there. (lot's of rich jet-set types) The interior is welded aluminum sheet and such. He said it is hand fabricated. He said something about it being imported from an arab country. It looked in good condition. I'll try to get a pic of it if it's still there and put it up here, but it will be a day or two until I get the time.

That means Newton Meters. 1 Newton Meter is .737561 ft/lb. So that would mean that 355 nM is actually 261.8 ft/lb. 355 nano nM's would be .000000261 ft/lb, not going anywhere fast with torque like that.
If you search on "convert.exe" you find a freeware program for converting units of all kinds of measure. It's a lifesave sometimes doing homework.

What happened to this thing? Dealers don't have them yet. I talked to Crosslander US and they are swapping the diesel for a v6 gasoline because of epa issues. The engine concerns have been the talk of Brazilian papers and these sources also talk about how important the American market is to the vehicle. Has anyone heard anything to the contrary? Does anyone have one of these vehicles? has anyone here driven one of the prototypes?

UNIMOG!!! Nuff said, check this out, some pretty cheap ones near the bottom, these mogs rock, best axles in the world and awesome trannies, these things can go practically anywhere. The thing can drive sideways on a 45 degree grade, now if thats not 4x4ing I don't know what is, they even make 6 wheelers if you are interested. All of this with the craftsmanship of Mercedez Benz. MOGS!!! just my humble opinion. Jay

Mog 404s start around $8000 here. http://www.coldwarremarketing.com/unimogs.asp Those are gassers but Diesels with US titles are avaiable. Pinzgauers start at 10,500. I'd rather have a Mog, thanks.
'87 4Runner. '83 Honda XL250R. No mods on either.

Unimogs are cool, but they are basically a tractor and they are too big and heavy for the wheeling I do.
I've seen "Crosslanders" in South America before, but they were labelled as Aros and they had gas motors. I was not real impressed, it was all Samurai sized running gear and the wheel wells were sized for 29" tires. I guess that one man's "cheap" is another man's "no frills" though...
