Getting the Wheeling Fever
hey guys, u guys don't hear much from me but i have been around for a while, im more of a reader than a talker, but anyways the other day i opened the door to my trooper and smelt antifreeze i looked down and my carpets are soaked with it and i mean WET i had to tear all the carpet out. im thinking it has to do with the heater core, i re-routed the heater hose that comes from the fire wall easy fix, but the problem is that it's starting to get a little cold at nights here in colorado,so im going to need a working heater, any input would be greatful

I am not sure what you are looking for here, but if you want a working heater, then you need to replace the core. Now, I know you know this, so....the hardest part will be finding a core. I know Modine lists one, but I don't know if it actually exists. The dealer and junk yard are your other options.

After that, go down to your parts store and ask to rent their metric set of double-jointed heater core midgets and tear into it. AFAIK, it is not a bad job, just cramped.

Good Luck,
Michael

Roll Me Over
The return of the double-jointed midgets.

Besides the heater midgets (above), there's also double jointed:
ò EGR cleaning midgets
ò Starter Midgets
ò fuel pressure & timing checking while driving midgets
ò transmission filling midgets
And more. Good to see someone's keeping them busy. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
