Well I swiped a very expensive scale from work yesterday and did my own research. Here is how it breaks down
*mind you my trooper doesn't have any suspension components on when I weighed it, but it does have a added subframe*
weight with motor and front clip-----------1090 weight of 1 tire(31") and spindle----------100x2 susension components (fabbed not stock)----50 weight front end sees when i sit in seat---107 misc (oil, antifreeze) guestamate----------50 total=~1500
(seems odd that the front end sees less then half of total weight, but I would trust the scale, it was calibrated a few months back)

Oh yeah forgot to mention, no front axle. I would venture to say the axle weighs roughly 150 maybe? On a side note a front axle with 4.77's might be forsale in the near future.

Just to get you in the ballpark......... My 4-cyl Amigo with a Toy front axle tipped 3500 lbs at Central 4x4 scales. The weight was virtually perfect 50/50 front/rear distribution !@???? The aftermarket white steel wheels with 33" MTs weigh over 80 lbs each...........

Just to get you in the ballpark......... My 4-cyl Amigo with a Toy front axle tipped 3500 lbs Now I am confused. To clarify I used a digital scale, which I know to be fairly accurate, which I hung from a engine hoist, and lifted the front end up. I DO NOT have any suspension components or front axle/cv-joints. To be honest 3500 seems high, doesn't it? One descrepancy might be because I lifted off the bumber mounts, which would act as a longer lever compaired to where the wheels are located. I sumed the moments and came out like this: If the CG is 6ft infront of the rear tires, and the front tires sit 8.5ft infront of the rear tires, then measuring the weight at the front bumper mount will be only 77% of what the front tires will see (these numbers were imagined while sitting at my desk). I think I better take the scale and measure it agian...

My pickup, dead empty with 35's and IFS weighs in at 3500 with about a 2000/1500 f/r split.
Hanging the front end will change your measurements dramatically. By the time you get the front end of the ground, you have shifted a considerable amount of the weight to the rear. I would also reweigh those 31's. 100# each seems pretty high.
Find a weigh station and do it right. If you have one close, I bet you can still see their scale head when they are closed. You can weigh f/r and l/r if you are good.

I find it very hard to believe that my rear is heavier than my front.....and I have a 4 cyl, NOT a V6. I weighed my Trooper on a big grain scale about a year ago and it weighed somewhere in the 4200 lb range.....with noone in it. Last spring we were at this 4x4 park and my buddy was showing off in his Heep. He drove his left front tire up on top of a stump that was about 3 feet tall. Well not to be outdone, I had to drive up on the same stump. My left rear wheel was totally drooped and it was about a foot off the ground. The right front tire was on the ground. So I ask you, while balancing on two tires, how could the truck be heavier in the rear if the front was on the ground and the rear was off the ground. I've never weighed the front and rear separately, and you could be right, but I don't see how.

Did you check the sticker in the drivers door frame? I know on my truck (a little newer) it has 'factory' front rear and total weight. But just about any truck stop that is open and not busy will gladly let you weigh in and even tell you when to stop for front/total/rear.

To clarify, when I said 100lbs I meant the tire and spindle combined. Your right, you do shift a large amount of wieght to the back, like I pointed out previously, measuring off the bumper mounts will get you a 13% smaller number then measuring where the front tires would be.
