I had to be drunk to do something this dumb.I had the head off to replace rocker arms and install a new timing kit.I decided to go through the wiring harness and check for bad connections.Well,I ended up pulling the wires out of one of the injector plugs.I also forgot to mark where each one goes.I know 2 of them have a blue & a white wire. The other 2 have a white/red and a yellow wire. Can anyone tell me which connector goes to each injector.I tried to decipher my haynes book.It seems to show the blue/white connectors go to #2 & #4 injectors. The white/red-yellow connectors go to #1 & #3 injectors. Also,if anyone knows the polarity of each wire.Let me know. Thanks in advance for your help!

Yella wires paired with the White/red go to #1 and #3 and Blues go to #2 & #4 as you said.
Looking at the top of then connector where the wires enter...colored wires are left, whites on the right...for all four. For reconnecting to the injectors start at #4 and work back up to #1. The wiring tails only stretch as far as the injector they are intended to mate with...unless you work real hard at forcing #1 onto #3 etc.
Booze and Wiring....bad juju.

The fuel rail is self bleeding. Stick a jumper wire into the diagnostic box between Fp and B+, turn ignition to ON and you should be able to hear the fuel rushing through the rail with little if any trouble. It'll make some gurgling and perculating noises as the air is pushed out...once you get a steady flow (consistant sound) pull the jumper and fire that bad boy up. If your injectors arent firing...you missed a connection or ground while sipping the suds. LOL

Darin, did you have any luck with the web site above? I've got one last question for you.OK,I got the truck running, the jumper you showed me let me know the fuel pump was ok.Apparently when I went to jump the connectors to set the timing,I blew the efi fuse.My question is,if the distributor is off 1 tooth either way, will it cause a high idle if off one way and a low idle if off the other way.I set the timing at 5 btdc but I can turn the idle screw all the way in and it still idles.I turn it out 1 full turn and it skyrockets up to 1800 rpm.Any clues on this.thnx,Doug

If you are off by one tooth on the distributor, you can usually get it close to running correctly by spinning the distributor fully one direction or the other...essentially making you only 1/2 a tooth off. And yes, 1 off either direction will cause it to run like schidt or like a raped ape...dont ask which direction does what- my brain is pickled. But if you were able to set the timing to 5* BTDC and the distributor lockdown bolt was riding mid slot...then your distributor isnt off a tooth. Chain might be though. If you can crank the idle screw in fully closed and the engine still runs then you have air getting in somewheres. Look around again for any source of vaccum leak. Length of hose makes a good stethascope for searching for leaks around the intake. Is your Auxiallary air thingy all hooked up proper?? Ya know the valve thats directly under the throttle body. Double check to make sure the EGR coupler nut is tight. When my 4Runner ran with the idle screw shut I found that I hadnt tightened the coupler....oops. Once sealed problem was solved.
