There were a few reasons why it wouldn't work. First off, my SAS spring hanger was in the way. But that could be fixed easily by cutting off the lower lip of the bracket, and finding some other mounting point on the bottom, As shown by the red line in this picture

This was my original thought as well..

The main problem was the large gap when the modified bracket was bolted up to the frame, as drawn by the arrows

Apparently the 89-95 trucks have a more protruding front cross member.

Hmmmm... The gap is confusing me, to be honest. The ARB front from my ex's 94 4Runner bolted right up to my 86 w/o no problem whatsoever. It fit for-aft just fine. I don't ebelieve there is any difference in the 3rd gen pickup/2nd gen 4Runner front frame horns - that is, I don't believe they protrude any farther. That being said, the captured nuts tha you originally bolted it to may be in a different place do to the new front body mounts they put on the 89+ trucks...

Regardelss, your solution is somehat similar to what I did on my 86 after I built the new drop front hanger.

I have nothing important to say.

lol....dick cepecs......Super Swamper TSL radials man! 36x14.50x15 on 15x10 tech1 rock crawlers with 2.5" backspacing.

Go back and read my recent post in this thread, I explained exactly how I made the brackets.

Lift? Hmm...lets see...front springs are 44044 which probably gave me 5", I have a 1" drop hanger which gives me 1" lift, and a 3" body lift. That puts me at, 10" total? Thats kinda scary! Rear is probably about 8".

BTW my website has all this info...see my sig

The top tow hook? bolt holes matched right up, but it left with with a big old gap. Plus there was nothing on the left and right for those bolt holes to go to.
