Just for those of you planning on replacing your timing chains.Don't sacrafice quality for savings!I just replaced mine with one of engine builders kits.It is first rate! The previous owner had this motor rebuilt 30K ago.I,like a lot of you, would just look down through the head to make sure the plastic guides were ok.I decided I wanted a kit with a metal backed drivers side guide and quality timing parts. It's a good thing I did!The crank gear on the set I replaced was so loose if you lifted it a little on the shaft, you could spin it right over the key that's suppose to hold it in place.I'm not sure how much damage this could cause. If I had waited,I'd know for sure! Just hopes this helps the next person who decides to replace their timing chain! have a good one!
