Getting the Wheeling Fever
Whats needed to convert a yj to cj front? Can I keep my fenders? I know I need the hood and grill. What about the plugs on the lights? Also does it bolt right up? thanks

for about $900 you can buy a glass cj clip for the yj.

There's a kit here, http://www.omix-ada.com/newmarkedproducts.htm

Or, you can find a complete clip (front end) from a CJ7 and follow these instructions. Then you'll end up with a CJ with no problems http://www.mn-jeep.com/features/cj-yj/1.shtml

I don't know why you'd want to change. Look at most of the big crawlers. Here a pic from last weekend. YJ with an LT1 Vette engine, 4:88s, D60s and 40"s. A real bad ass.

The conversion wont be out for 90 days, but I guess thats the way I'll be going since the cj conversion sounds like a pain in the ,as for the reason I like the look of simplicity I really prefer all the older cj's like the cj3 but I like the yj frame and tub for the strength and rust proofing,Im gonna take the 4.2 to the death but they are hard to kill.I'll probablly do a gm 4.3 because I'm already running the Howell injection and Hei dist. I dont want to offend anybody else but I really prefer the cj dashes also especially to that of the tj, In my opinion it looks to cumfy and functional(by the way I owned a 99 Sahara and traded it in)Currently we are selling the house to purchase one with more garage space for my toys also surprising enough my 6 year old daughter(turned 6 today) is quite the jeeper and loves to help on projects when she not chopping her barbie jeep(sometimes I have to compete w/her)one project was to flame the hood.we'll see if I become a future spotter,Thanks for the replies if I knew how to put a photo up I'd send one of our jeeps
