I need to order an adapter, any idea on the thread pattern where the current pressure sensor is connected?

The threads are British Standard Pipe Thread BSPT IIRC. If no one comes up with the answer I will look at my Autometer adapter's package I used for the correct size and thread type.

Your current sensor is plugged in directly below the oil filter.

The widely available Sunpro brand offers a kit of brass adapters, that convert NPT to Metric and BPT. It is less than $10 and available @ PepBoys. This kit WILL NOT adapt the large mechanical temp sending probe to Metric. I used the BSP adapter to replace the factory electric temp gauge that flunked out

Part number: CP7573

M10 x 1.0 to 1/8" NPT
M12 x 1.0 to 1/8" NPT
M14 x 1.5 to 1/8" NPT
M16 x 1.5 to 1/8" NPT
-and-
1/8-28 BSP to 1/8" NPT

BSP is the correct, although I can't remember exact what it is. I believe it's 1/8-27 BSP. I do know it's the same for Toyotas and Honda.

Here's how you can use both the idiot light and an aftermarket gauge. Works great. Put your new sending unit in place of the old idiot light sending unit. Then run a wire from the new sending unit your aftermarket gauge.

Find the little alternative oil port plug that is located inside the passenger motor mount. Assuming it's a 22R motor. Because the 22R has two alternative places to bolt motor mounts, they had to include an alternative oil pressure port. It currently has a screw in plug. Unscrew that plug. Your stock idiot light will just fit inside the motor mount, because it's fairly small. Then mount the stock wire to the stock idiot light sensor.

Larger aftermarket sensors will likely not fit inside the motor mount, so that why it's probably easier to relocate the idiot light sender there.

It's a good idea to have the idiot light, because it's a hellava lot more noticable that a gauge is.

If you have a V-6, I'm not sure if they have the extra port. In that case, you'll need to use 4Crawler's idea of getting a dual unit sensor. I used one of these on my Honda and works great, but they are kind of spendy.

Need a Spot
I recall using an adapter in the blokc and a T

I "jammed" the OEM sender into the female portion on the T with teflon goop - hasnt leaked in 350K miles..

The copper line that came with the origianl Autometer kett was getting brittle so its been replaced with Earls... no more worries about leaks here...

man Im getting OLD...

What he said... this is the way to go!

22R/RE blocks have 1/8 x 28 BSP (British Standard Pipe) threads. I'm not guessing, I know. I just had to tap new threads on mine, long story.
