Well, I've been toying with getting the '98 FSM set off of Ebay for some time now... and now someone has finally bid on it. Anyone else here get an FSM off Ebay from "carmanualguy"? I know he sells photocopies and was curious what the quality is. $120 for a photocopied set... $170 for a set direct from Toyota, what would you do? Does anyone know if Carrol down at Gettel can get them for us cheaper? I would imagine not.

I downloaded the entire manual from the TIS website for a $10 day pass. If you are going to settle for a photocopy, spend the time and download and print them yourself. That will save you the $120. I remember reading the quality of the photocopy was poor. I think it was discussed a few months back.

I did the same thing for my wife's Camry. It's best if you have a high speed internet link. They also have all the recall and factory service bulletins available at TIS.

I got a FSM from Carmanualguy for my '97 back in June. It is not an original, that's for sure. The cover and binder are of decent quality, the pages are heavy paper copies of an original FSM. I got mine for I think $55 back then, if I'm not mistaken, he's put a reserve of $65 now. Still, it's a deal. It's all the same stuff, the pages are clearly printed, etc .. I've used mine quite a few times already. Either buy it on eBay or download it for $10; either way, you're saving money.

I emailed "carmanualguy" about one of his manuals I wanted and asked if it was an original or a copy and that if it was an original I'd buy it at his "buy it now" price.
He never replied. Instead he did something so that I can no longer bid on any of his auctions. I sent him another email asking why he did that and still no reply. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
I'd be tempted to give him my money if I could get a manual from him, but on the other hand, he doesn't seem like the kind of person I want to deal with...

I do that for each and every auction that he posts.. have been for months. Neither company seems to give a rats ass about what he's doing. *shrug* I spent 15 hours and $10 and downloaded the manual myself. PITA! But I had that ammount of money to spend, and precious little more (been unemployed for several years), so I do what I have to.
