Getting the Wheeling Fever
Well... I used the pickle fork without problems, until the last joint that only took me an hour an a half to pop off... Here is my victory shot:

[Linked Image]

After that I installed, only breaking the tie rod adjustment clamp bolts four times by over torquing them... Here is my victory image after that:

[Linked Image]

And then I got new tires because look what I found when I was installing the new tie rods:

So tomorrow I will take it to the alignment shop... Until then, pound back a few hard ciders and realize, in a tipsy haze, that I am a racist:

All in all, successful day!

Thanks everyone... next time ditching the damned pickle fork and investing in a new torque wrench... but the hard cider was damned good... Sticking to that.

Looked at your picture again; might want to trim the cotter pins so they don't lay in wait for you. Them's stitch go-getters.

Nice little tire bulge; never seen one so close to the edge of the tread like that one tho'. Have seen them on the sidewalls; seperation city.

Keep an eye on your tires; that's where it'll show up.

Also, if you've changed only one side, the other isn't far behind it. Luckily with my second one I was under 15 mph in a turn.....

If the ride is okay and it's not chewing up tires, don't see why not.

Roll Me Over
sometimes a pickle fork just wont do it.

for $5, get a harbor freight tie-rod popper.

safer...

tip: next time, apply TONS of anti-seize on the tie rods that goes into the spindle...
