Hook the cables up (with the jumping vehicle off) positive to positive and negative to negative. As long as you don't short the wires out, your alt shouldn't be affected. Don't crank the other car till your battery is dead of course!
I used to have a cig lighter to cig lighter booster. You ran the car giving the jump for 10 minutes with the cables hooked up.


Build your truck the head men say, but it must be built in such a way...
