Hey guys, what springs do i need to get to lift my 2001 Sportage? Read Mazda MPV, but not sure what year, if this is correct.

I got the Mazda's. They do raise the truck about 4 inches, only problem being that they are a little wide and will have to be placed in there shifted all the way to the center of the truck and front. You really need to play with them to get them in the right place. If you don't place them that way you will get rubbing either to the tire or the rear right stabilizer bar base. You also have to be careful they don't rub against the brake line when compressed because they are wider than the base and also against the gas tank. They do ride smooth and offer a good height. I left out the rubber on top and bottom of the springs and secured the spings to the bottom and top plate with brackets I got from my construction site. They are curved metals with a screw on the side. If I had not paid for them, I would try another spring that was not as wide. They do allow for a full 4 to 5 inches on down travel. I tried getting the guys that installed them to give me information on what they did, but no one answered the post.

Eibach makes a 2 1/2" lift for the Sportage, the only problem is it only lifts the rear 1 1/2". Stock Jeep TJ springs will lift the rear 4 inches but you should get the TJ bump stop cups and bump stops to keep the springs centered on the spring pearch. I make spacers that I use with the Eibach lift to raise the front 4 inches and the rear 3 1/2 inches or you can use the TJ springs in the rear. The Eibach lift work good for 30x950s and you can get 31x1050s with the 4' lift. Dennis

What year TJ springs and hardware do I need to get?
Also, I am only wanting to go high enough for my 235x75R15 to fit. I was also thinking of just using the 1-1/2 " rubber blocks that go in between the coils.

The Eiback rear springs sag big time after about a year or so. The front are good. I would go with the spacers and factory springs.

If you are going with 235/75R15 tires, you probably don't need a lift.
For a small lift, you could go with stock springs and Dennis's spacers in the front and Air lift Air Springs for a Nissan Pathfinder (#60742) in the rear coils. That would give you about 1.5" in the front and 1" in the rear with less sagging with load.
Don't use the blocks that go between the coils. They reduce articulation and wear out the springs.

What do you mean by air springs from a Nissan? I thought a lont time about an air bag inside my rear springs for lift, but the only problem I saw with it was when you go off road and you are in an uneven ground, the rear springs won't contract because of the air bag and a rollover would be more eminent. When my right tire is fully stretched in an uneven ground, my left spring contracts fully leaving my truck straight and more balanced. Oh! Do add the body lift to that lift, you'll really like it and it is not too difficult.

The Air Lift spring insert for the Sportage is really too short even for the stock springs. The one for the Nissan Pathfinder is about 2" longer and much better for either stock Sportage springs or the Eibachs. In fact, they would probably prevent the Eibachs from saging.
Yes, airsprings are TOO progressive if the air pressure is too high but if you limit your lift to less than 1" it is fine. I really use mine to keep the stock empty rear ride height with a load.

I like the idea and I would be willing to put back the Eiback springs. What worries me is the off level functionality in that the contraction of the springs when off roading.

TJs were manufactured 98 - 03. Here's 235s on stock suspension; And here's the TJ springs in the rear, the front springs were custom fit by a local shop. Not sure what they are OEM for; I wish I had a picture of the 1 1/2 block I used between the coils, well the half of it that I could find after they split down the middle the first time I backed over that big dropoff where my driveway transitions to the street <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> Wish I had that 8 bucks back let me tell you.
