I bought a new Tundra long bed the other night, and everything is perfect except that the pickup came through without cruise control, though the brochures and dealer told me that it was standard. Has anyone found either an aftermarket or factory cruise control for the Tundra? I'm thinking I'm screwed because the 2005 Tundra is drive-by-wire, so that there is no throttle cable.

You should not have taken delivery until they agreed to install the cruise control.I am shure they can hook up cruise control to your truck.Drive by wire makes no difference in fact it is probably easier to install.I am sure all the components just plug in.Go back to the stealer and make a stink. The sqeeky wheel gets the grease.Good luck!

Hold the dealers head under water until they put it in, I tried to put an aftermarket cruise in to my t-100 and to say it was a long horrible catastrophic disaster would be like saying chernobyl really wasnt that bad. It took so much time and dealer trips to sort out what went horribly wrong with my poor electrical system.

Well, of course I shouldn't have taken delivery if I didn't like it without cruise, but the truck is otherwise perfect and as fresh as they get (dropped off the truck on Tuesday evening and I picked it up Wednesday evening). I pursued it with Toyota, and they pretty much told me that I should have read the fine print on the brochure, which of course states "specifications subject to change". Oh, and by the way, they don't offer any retrofit cruise.
So I looked at the electrical schematics. I conclude that all of the cruise control wiring is there except for the switch in the steering wheel (the V8 Tundras are drive-by-wire and as such have no throttle cables). Cruise functions are performed by the ECU. I thought I'd just buy a cruise switch, but my parts man tells me that you have to buy an entire steering wheel. Toyota sure doesn't want me to have cruise.
So does anyone know of a (tan/oak) steering wheel with cruise switch for sale? I'm talking with my local wrecking yard.

I wish you best of luck on finding a steering wheel.. but in the intereset of education on this not happening to me I need to ask. Did you buy the truck w/ cruise control? Does the sticker say it has cruise control?
If it is simply a matter that you over looked that it did not have c/c I can understand, but if the sticker on the truck you bought says it has c/c, and that sticker match's the VIN and such on your title, the dealer is saying they can change anything at will even as you pay for it? Geez, maybe Nissan will be getting my next $30k for a truck. So can the dealer yank the engine out and put in a 250k mile 4 banger?
Not meaning to beat the dead horse, just never heard of a dealer being this much of a sneak.

Maybe I wasn't clear. The truck never had cruise control, nor did the window sticker say it did. I researched the truck on the official Toyota site, where it said (and still says) that the regular cab 4 x 4 V8 has cruise control standard. I went to the dealer, where the official brochure says that cruise is standard. So I told him I wanted one. He found the truck and four days later it came in, without cruise. He told me he had no idea why this occurred and that I could back out of the deal. The truck is perfect otherwise, so I told him to give me $500 back, thinking that I could add cruise as an aftermarket unit.
No aftermarket cruise exists, at least not that I can find. It appears to me that all of the wiring is there to simply add a cruise switch (and maybe a different stop light switch) and have cruise. I know it has been done on first generation Priuses.
