Previous Thread Next Thread Print Thread Rate Thread Fan Clutch question #523925 11/09/04 06:18 PM Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 63 Colorado mtboulder OP Getting the Wheeling Fever I installed a new fan clutch on my '98 trooper because the old one was making a scretching noise when ever it was cold outside. With the new clutch I can really hear the fan spinning while driving. It turns freely by hand with the engine off. Does it take a while for the bearings in the new fan clutch to wear in so the fan spins more freely with the engine running thus making less noise? Even if it is cold outside it will spin. Its like it needs to warm up to operate normaly. Its worked fine since.
