Getting the Wheeling Fever
I installed a new fan clutch on my '98 trooper because the old one was making a scretching noise when ever it was cold outside. With the new clutch I can really hear the fan spinning while driving. It turns freely by hand with the engine off. Does it take a while for the bearings in the new fan clutch to wear in so the fan spins more freely with the engine running thus making less noise?

Ive noticed with my fan when i first start it, it spins for the first 10-15 minutes, then it starts acting normal. Even if it is cold outside it will spin. Its like it needs to warm up to operate normaly. I installed it a year ago and its been like this since i bought it.

oh my geez, i just caught the biggest black widow, freaky, anyways, if it acts like it is locked the whole time, take it back.

Just replaced a fan clutch recently, it took about 10 miles for it to disengage the first time. Its worked fine since.
