Sad to see that this subject goes so inactive.
I just recently purchased a 2003 XL-7 and love it!
Although I've yet to modify much, besides tires and wheels, it's a great ride and should do well with an air bag lift system or other type of lift kit someday.
It seems this is the closest forum to my vehicle as it is a Grand VITARA XL-7. I'd like to see some response to how your XL-7 or Grand Vitara is working out.

Hi, sorry about the delay, been kind of busy lately. I've got a 2000 Tracker (Vitara) with the 2.0 and 5 speed. Its a fantastic little truck, havn't had any problems with it. The only thing I've had to do beside oil changes is buy new tires (right now I'm at 54,000 miles, I really can't complain here.) If you'd like to look at a more active board try Zukiworld.com. They have a very active BBS board, lots of people with Samis, Trackers, Vitaras, Grand Vitaras, and a number of XL7's that have been lifted and modified. You should check it out. To be honest, it has been reliable; however, I'm not thrilled with the quality or with the dealer's service.
