Just swapped the gauges, got a nice sr5 cluster. I took out my milage barrel and swapped it with the sr5. I now have the correct mileage (and same exact part) on the new cluster. Everything seemed to work fine, my truck was already wired for a tach, just plugged it in. Took it for a test drive and the speedometer is totally messed up. starts at 0 then goes up to - uh faster than I am going and wont come back down when I stop.. Maybe a minute goes by and the then its back at 0. Please - someone - help me here. Any suggestions.?

Temp gauge also is a bit jumpy. Will go up and down while i hit the dash. This also brings the speed down, or up depending on how hard I hit it... Any suggestions would surely be appreciated.

Did you by any chance take the speedometer needle off to get your new odometer barrel in? The needle is very sensitive and when taken off it is easy to get damaged or miss-calibrated when puting it back on. Since you say it skips around, it sounds like it could be damaged
When I did my cluster swap, I didn't take the needle off, I just drilled some brackets out with some small drill bits to get my odometer rolling

yes I took the needle off. Put it back on too. the calibration is not the problem.. Even if the truck is off, the needle will stay up, 30 and then with some love taps on top of the dash, it will go back down. Could I have bent the rod the needle sticks on to?
