Getting the Wheeling Fever
I just towed an 18' bowrider from Phoenix to Peublo West, Colorado using my 85 4Runner. The boat weighed about 2200 pounds and my truck weighs 4150 pounds. This sounds about like what you'll be towing. It wasn't fast over the passes, but it did it okay and was safe. Trailer brakes would be helpful but my 4Runner brakes were capable of stopping everything fine.

I would just take your time and be attentive to changing conditions.

Good luck,

Allan
