Try it and see. Are you running the stock Toyota front springs? If so, how much bump stop clearance do you have? I found with my stock '85 front, the ride was horrible because any bump over 1" tall would bottom out my suspension. I added a set of lift springs and the ride was so much better with a little extra travel. Have you confirmed the harsh ride is due to the springs and not the shocks?
