If it's independent rear suspension, then there would only be camber and caster. Toe is technically a member of the steering system and I don't believe that Mitsu has anything like quadra-steer.

Body Damage is Cool
Actually, if there is ajustments on a non steering rear, they would be camber and toe, Caster is the one dealing with steering. Just a littele mixed around. I will check my huntermachine real quick and post my findings.

The Alignment machine ilistrated that there are two cam eccentrics on the inside of the upper control arm, in the rear, that are used to ajust camber and toe. This is off of our 2004 model Hunter S811. So toe can be ajusted in the rear of the independant rear suspension Montero.

I beg to differ.
Someone tell me if I'm completely crazy, but the last time toe was adjusted on my vehicle, it was done so by adjusting the tie rods, which are steering components. Caster is a balance between ball joints. I don't see the connection between those and steering?

I have to admit though, I am no officianotto(sp?) of IRS.

toe in toe out is affected by your tie rods.... which only adjust that. Steering adjustment is done on the draglink.

the toe in toe out adjustment is inherently tied to steering, but not really a steering adjustment.

/\toe in \/ toe out. like that.

When was that last time you aligned a RWDvehicle w/ rear independant susp? or a front wheel drive? Right on you screen it gives you: Rear toe and rear Camber.
A ball joint is predominatly a steering component. Altough used in non steering situations. The rear of an independant susp vehicle does not always have ball joints.

Easy now. I know I'm not an expert on IRS, but I am trying to understand. And sorry, I misread some of the lingo above.

Peace and clarification. Here is Hunters link to caster and measurement of caster.
