Cant remember if the proper method was heating the rod ends or if just a press was used. I know it was a fairly simple process though...watched EB do it. LOL I recall him sticking the rods into this little box....

Might want to shoot EB a message and ask. That way you do it right the first time. Installing the new is done same as removing old...just backwards.

>>>*Removing the old bushing is done with a press and fixture. It slides right out. The process is reversed to reinstall, be sure the oil hole aligns.

A suitable hone is required to finish the ID to size, clearences are a slip fit, which means about 1/2 thousandth of an inch.

When correct the wrist pin slides freely back and forth with no vertical motion noted. Then just install in the piston and set the clips in, those should be installed with the gap, or opening, facing upwards.

Typically a job for a machine shop....*EB

you say the c-clips for the piston pin should have their gaps facing the top of the piston? guess i'll give them a look before i slap them in the block

Like EB said... a job best left to machine shop. I had them resize rods and assemble EB's bushings, pins and pistons. For my money, it's too dang much work and expense not to use pro with proper equipment and experience at this stage.

In addition, while they are at the machine shop they can check them for straightness and straighten them if necessary
