On page 22 of the January Motor Trend there is an article entitled "The Future of Mitsubishi" One section concerns the Gen IV (cool, Gen IV ). Here is what they had to say:

Quote
2007 Montero: It'll be rugged and slab-sided, a traditional looking SUV but like the current model, with independent rear suspension, to fill a market gap left by the flood of crossovers.

Could it be that the next Montero will have a retro design that pays hommage to the Gen I? I have also heard that the Montero may not be coming to the US when it get a redesign.

Monteros won't be all out cool until they bring back the 2dr From what i've read 05 will most likly be the last year for the US. Looks like we'll just have to wait for the hyundai gen 1 copies to come out.

Yeah, but do you think they'll be worth a ?

Of course, something like 100% drivetrain compatability with the original GenI would be the ultimate in cool. Probably no chance though (just because Jeeps could in WWII )

1990 Montero RS (In pieces... for now)
