I done searches on here and on yahoo. I din't seem to find the silver bullet for I was looking for. I can find cats ranging from 59.99 to $250. I can't affort to spend that much but don't want the cheapest. dealor's qoute is out of my budget. Are bosh o2 sensors compatible w/ the toy. I know I din't like any bosh spark plug i ever put into a yoda. I was just wondering if I wouldget the same crappy performance out of it. Thanks for any help Sid

You can get Denso sensors over at www.sparkplugs.comMy cat 2 years ago from NAPA was $109, no trouble so far.

Try Autozone for a cat, I just picked one up for my "86 project truck for $40, the 3.0 may cost more. If you want a high flow one get a Magnaflow(mine ran me $150 at a local shop, didn't have time to shop around), you can see through it, as if you are looking through a screen door.
As far as the O2 sensor goes I would stick with an OEM one, rather trhan dealing with the splice in kind. Has the O2 sensor gone bad(just getting lazy=drop in mpg), get the cat now, and the O2 sensor when you got the extra money.
More than tread lightly. Leave it like you were never there, nor anyone else. '90 X-cab 4.88's 33 BFG AT's, rr ARB, Headers, Ignition upgrade, cold air induction. '91 X-cab 5.29's 315's BFG MT's, rr ARB, custom bumper and flatbed

not really sure if the o2 has gone bad. I check engine light came on a little over a year ago and the dealer said it was the o2. a day later, the light went off and never came back on until the speed, tach gauges blew. I know for sure the cat is gone, I heard it explode on the way home and all the sudden there was a hugh lack of power.
I've seen the bosh o2 that you dont have to splice, direct fit for about $100. Any one had something good or bad w/ the bosh. thanks

I just picked up a new 2-1/2" cat off Ebay for $23 and I'll have the Toyota style 2 bolt flanges welded on each end so it bolts in place. I can't believe some of the companies charge $110-160 for a new cat with the flanges. Which cat does your truck have, the 12" long or 17" long? Make sure you get the same style when you replace it.

Thanks Jeff, Thats kind of the answer I was looking for "Make sure you get the same style when you replace it". I don't exactly know which one I have. I was in a bad accident about 6 weeks ago and broke 18 bones, mostly ribs, but I'm in a wheelchair now and cant crawl under the vechile now. I guess I will have to trust my brother to go under there. Which brand did you get.

You can find the OEM O2 sensors for really cheap on the net, IIRC there's a place actually called oxygen sensors.com or something like that, which I found by searching.
Sorry to hear about your accident.
