3.0L V6 Crank pulley

Q: STOP! Read the answer below before you even ask this question.
A: The crank bolt on ALL Mitsubishi 3.0L V6 engines is a recall item. This is mentioned several times in the archives. Do a search and you will come up with seemingly endless results of people who have had their crank bolt snap and things go haywire. The old bolt was prone to undertorquing and failure. You will need to replace it.

Q: What's that you ask? Do I really have to worry about this?
A: If you have a Mitsubishi 3.0L V6 engine with the old style crank bolt, the answer is yes! It's not a question of will it happen, it's a question of when it will happen! It's a 15min job to fix what will cost you much much more in time and money when it fails while your driving.

Q: But...
A: No buts - FIX IT!

Q: But...
A: But what?! Fix it!

Q: Bu..
A: Fix it!

It would also be nice to include some links to the aftermarket suppliers.

I agree on the aftermarket links. I,ve only had mine for about a week, but i've spent hours upon hours searching. Very few sites even list mitsubishi, and when they do it usually comes up with nothing.

Did you fix your crank bolt yet?!

Aftermarket vendor links are generally located in the SPNR, also stickied at the top of the page. If you don't find what you're looking for there, click on the link in my sig.

Another-nice-to-have FAQ category - Recalls.
Provide details like when you got it and quote the document verbatim. Seems I've missed some that I saw in these threads!
