Doing some research on fog and driving lights led me to the PIAA lamp selection page. It looks to me that they chose to use an Amigo as their example vehicle. http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/LampSelectionGuide.html Just thought it was kinda cool.

Thanks for the post/link. That actually helped my figure out that nothing is wrong with the lights I got.

One of the reasons they may have used the Amigo as an example vehicle could be because most of the Japanese MUs (it's equivalent) got PIAA lights mounted on a front brush guard from the factory.

I was lucky and got one while I was living in Japan. I couldn't unravel the mess of wiring to take that also though. So, when I wired it in on my Amigo, they weren't the off-road lights I was expecting. I figured I missed getting a voltage step-up component. But looking at that site I have the Fog/Foul weather beam pattern/brightness. So that explains why they aren't the super bright-long range lights I hoped they were. Now I'll have to get a different set of fog lights and upgrade the PIAAs.

Glad it helped. I like the applications they prestent. The correct application for a fog light, would certainly be what you have (with amber lens/light) wide pattern dispersal and as low to the ground as possible to avoid reflection from moisture. The fog light is what I am soon to be installing. Next (or first) I plan upgrading the headlights to either the sylvania silverstar, or piaa h4 (more costly) for improved night driving.
