I know this from experiance , I just replaced my trans also. Think about this... if you buy used you are getting someone elses problem , it may last a good while but then again it may not .Then you find yourself in the same situation without a warranty, AND out $1500 bucks. If you rebuild, the problem WILL present itself again and you are still out the cash it took to rebuild/labor,etc.On the other hand...If you get a NEW one you not only get the warranty, but PEACE OF MIND in knowing that the thing will work for years to come .It may be a little more espensive, but well worth the $$. I know money plays a big roll in your decision, as it did mine...take the time to review all of your options and give Jerry Lemond a call. He is a former Isuzu tech INSTRUCTOR, and knows just about everything to know about Isuzus. He helped me out a lot. He will be able to steer you in the right direction whatever you decide to do. I opted to go with new and he was able to get me a brand new, not rebuilt, transmission/transfer case at a fraction of the cost it would have been ANYWHERE else. You can PM him from this site(JLEMOND) or E-mail him @ JLEMOND@BELLSOUTH.NET. This guy is GOLDEN, good people, and I know he will be able to help you. I hope the problem is minor and you don't have to get another trans... but if you do Jerry is the go to guy. You can send me a PM to get the details, and his telephone#. If you have any questions also, PM me and I will give you all the info on this I got on my search for the trans. Good luck
