There is a post here on the resistor that I think you are talking about. The concensus seems to be that it doesn't work real well, sorry. Is your truck running lean or exhibiting other issues?

tweak is the right word....tweaker might do the mod.
Dont do it. First of all you will be messing with the ECU's capability of controlling air fuel ratios. Second, your O2 sensor will have the last say in the ECU correcting for the adjustment. AFM is a very serious and touchy component. I thought I could do the mod with my upgrades and modifications after 2 years of telling people not to mess with it. 3 weeks later my #4 cylinder spit its rings out. Piston looked like it had been hit with a blowtorch...not just #4 but all of them.
Do yourself a favor and leave the EFI sensors set where they are.
Just my $.02 after trying it and spending alot more of fixing things.
Call LCE and talk with their techs about it. Even they will tell you not to mess with it unless the engine is so heavily modified that it wont start with stock settings.

I called LCE on the MAF and they told me to basically leave it alone unless the engine is really F'd up with mods just like Thief said. I put on the LCE EFI power package along with exhaust from LCE, I messed with the MAF before I called them. Let me tell you something, you really don't wanna mess with it. I went 4 teeth difference from my marked stock location and the flapper would slap open (I could hear it in the cab) with throttle applied fast. The engine would back fire and I could barely make it around the block or down the street. I limped home and set it a couple a teeth closer to stock and drove around it was better but I could tell it was not good, came back home and set it back to stock location and it's been there every since. I will leave it there. Really I should have listen to Darin to begin with, but you know me I gotta learn the hard way. I say leave it alone and enjoy. Plus the EFI will "learn" adjust on its own, I read this in the EFI Tech notes Darin gave me.

reason why i wanted to do it on cold days it seems like the engine performs better revs up better and gets better mileage. i know cold air is more dense and make more power but on days when the temp is above 40 the engine feels sluggish and sometimes make a funky rancid fuel odor not sure what to do. you can here the exhaust on the cold days also even sounds like more power is created?!
i think it has something to do with air induction i have a k&N in a stock box have any of you guys put an open element cone filter in place of the air box..I am temped to do it but i do not want to suck in water

I also have the open air cone LCE K&N air filter and I took out the battery and that is where the air filter is (shortened plastic tube and rubber hose) cause of a electric fan. The battery found its way to the bed in a boat battery box. The only way you are gonna get water in it is when you cross a creek that is as deep as the air filter, which by the way is the same height as a stock box. If I was going to make a submarine I would get a snorkel.
I say let that thing breath. Leave MAF alone put on mods like I did and do a full tune-up (plugs cap rotor, etc...)like I did when I replaced T-chain, LCE cam and everything else. My truck runs great, don't see why yours shouldn't either, oh and I run 89 octane gas.

When's the last time you cleaned the t'body, given you're running a K&N? Oil gunk.....
Rule of thumb with MAF tweak
You tweak MAF = 'BAD DOG- no biscuit!'

Me! Clean anything until it doesn't work? Are you kiddin me? I just did all the mods about 5 or 6 thousand miles ago. I will wait till late March when winter breaks and fiddle (valve adjustment, pull plugs, clean intake system, change fluids, etc...) with the whole shooting match, unless the (knock on wood) HG lets loose, then I'll be strapped to driving the 03 Hemi Dodge (never passes a gas station with out stoppin).
