I have a 88 Toyota SAS that i just got done swaping out the 4.3 i had in it with a 350 and the SM465 w/NP208. The only problem that i had was finding someone to make me a custom power steering hose (high pressure side)! Other that that it went pretty smooth. Good luck with the swap! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

I was up in the air on what motor to run and what setup. When it comes dowm to it the decision was based on what I found for sale at a decent price. Some of the prices around here have been just a little on the highside for my likings. ie One guy had a 700r and tc and he wanted $1,200cdn. I got the whole rolling chais and drive train for $700, pays to be patient.

Foyoto, More info on your 5.0 swap please! I was thinking that same engine just because it is about 100 pounds lighter than the 350. Did you have to relocate the radiator? I know the 5.0 is a little longer than the chevy motor. Any details you could provide would be great! Thanks!

have done the 7m swap - very easy ,AND easy on the bank account as the parts needed are in most wrecking yards . 200 smooth hp and sounds great revved up. Should not destroy a w series tranny/case . Lots of time wrenching but that is good fun - skinner

Sorry it took me so long to respond. The radiator is in the stock location. I used a 3 row V6 with a 2000cfm pusher fan in front of it. No room for a mechanical Fan. So far no cooling problems at all. I had to do some sheet metal releiving behind the exhaust manifolds for clearance. If I do this again I think I'll try the 5.0 or 5.7 chevy TBI with 4L60E and see how it fits. The only problem I have is that in overdrive the spud shaft in the adapter seems to chatter when I let off the gas or am coasting.
