Body Damage is Cool
The Pitman arm is also a wear item. It uses the same ball-stud as the rest of the linkage. Turning the wheels in place as in doing 3 point turns or getting around parking spaces doesn't make it happy over time. The steering box could need adjustment. The front wheel bearings could be out or going. Or self-testing the balljoints and TREs didn't accurately show how worn they are. When was the last time it was aligned?

I had this issue about 2 years ago. The truck was just all over the place on the freeway. I dont believe I felt it much in 4wheeldrive though but I havent had it up to any real speed in 4wheeldrive very often. Mine was solved by replaced the idler arm and then tightening the steering box just a little bit. Its still tight as #$%^ to this day.

My tierods ...ahem....MADE me change them. Luckily I was in a VERY low speed turn at the time. Took care of one, with the intent to do the other side that coming weekend, but it also failed 3 days later on a low speed turn. Angels lookin out for me; the parts were behind the seat, and I wasn't on the highway. Tip-toed it to the garage for a front end alignment.

Just got done w/ R&R on ball joints. Ain't cheap these days; they ran me $220 from NAPA, but did all 4. MUCH better now.

Sway bar stuff might be worn also; check the maintenance articles here for the how-to.

This is NOT somethin' to Jones about. Start stackin' them 20's meester.
