im might be buying a 4runner sometime soon, lookin into a 1995. The problem is that i don't know much about them. i want a 5 speed with the v6. can you guys help me out and give me some information about the 4runner? basic info and lift info( lift kit, what size tire) I have some 33 inch bfg mud tires on my trooper and i was wondering if i could put them on a 4runner that is stock. thanks


90 trooper. 3inch BL. 3inch Suspension, 33in BFG muds sitting on 15x8 rockcrawlers, roof rack, calmini front double tube bumper with two kc's, hypertech power chip, spare tire hi-lift mount,flipped lid with K&N drop in filter more to come

1 or 2" BL should clear the 33's.
Roger Brown has the best kit for 4runners.
If you want more power get a 96, better (upgradeable, SAS chassis) get the pre96. You can get 97+ with a rear e-locker also.

I have had a 95 3.0 for the past 4 years. No major problems. Changed the clutch. Put shocks on it. Changed the CV boots. Changed the starter contacts. A new battery. Spark plugs etc. Has about 105K miles on it now. It had a timing belt shortly before I got it. The only issue now is that is is beginning to rust and I will need to do or have some body work done in the spring. I like the truck alot. The 3.0 is a bit slow off the line but once you are moving it is fine. Mileage is not bad all things considered. I have the 31X10.5 tires. Have not really considered a lift and bigger tires as they do fine. Also have the sagging rear springs and plan to fix that sometime.

one other thing to look at is the '96 and newer have dual airbags('94,'95 have single). just another though............Karl
