Guy's like many of you I have a cap, and now I have a winch to drudge around with me so I want to replace that wooden cheapo box I put in the bed with something good.

Anywho, having a cap means I need either a chest or a flush mount so I can put it inside the cap and still open it. Any of you guy's have this configuration?

I also have a cap window that opens on the side so I'd really like to get a side box that flush mounts with a lock on the top of it. This way I could keep the gun's locked up in back and get to them through a side window that locks for easy access.

If you've seen anything that works let me know.

Thanks!

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Spot,

I just sold my T100 (bought a Silverado Crew 1500) and I am installing an ARE MX Series topper with the "side win-doors" you are talking about. My truck has the extra short 5'8" bed so I also want this for easy side access from the topper and to preserve the limited depth of the bed.

I have researched everywhere and found nothing. If you find anything please let me know. Otherwise, I'll have to go with a custom "el cheapo" wood box option over the wheel well.

Thanks,
Candido

I don't know if this will help, but I posted this a little while back.

OK, I found the perfect fit tool box for my needs. It's an aluminum crossover box intended for a compact truck. 61" wide single lid, 49" wide lower portion, 20" deep front to back. I sit it on the bed up in the front, so the 49" wide part fits exactly between the wheel humps, no wiggle room at all (maybe even rhinoliner would prohibit a fit). I have it bolted to a bar that I ran across the front tie loops. I like it below the rails so it doesn't block any window, or make it higher to lift stuff tio load.

The closeup pic with the lid open you can see one of the bolts that hold the box to the crossbar I had there.

Got it at Northern Tool & Equipment, their label, made by Better Build, item number 348146

Gunvault has a model you can attach to the rail for rifles and pistols but as for a tool box I haven't found anything that fits the bill yet either.

I bought a Contico plastic box for my Toyota Truck about 9 or 10 years ago. When I sold my truck I stored the tool box in the corner of the garage. Hoping that I might be able to use it again someday. (besides storing boat stuff in it) The tool box fit perfect inside the box of the truck. It stood a little higher than the sides of the truck box. It had two doors that would flip up towards the front of the truck. (not towards the center like alot of models that sat on top of truck box rail) The doors of the tool box both have key locks. The bottom of the box was shaped to fit around the wheel bump. Now I'm thinking about putting it in my T100. It won't be a exact fit like in the other truck but I guess it will work.

I did a seach under Contico and couldn't find my exact model. There was one model that fit inside the truck box and the entire top flipped up.

There is a model that might be kinda like mine. (I like mine better.) http://www.contico.com/automotive-foam-cr.htm

Now I'm not completely sure if that model is supposed to sit down in the box. My tool box doesn't have the edge on both sides. It just has the space to fit around the wheel bump. I'll keep looking. Mine is a Contico though.
