Getting the Wheeling Fever
My vinyl floor mat had to go because it had massive hole and was trapping water underneath. After several days of thorough cleaning, I coated the floor with Herculiner.

I think it looks great, but I have yet to determine whether the noise or heat will increase (the Amigo is a lengthy, ongoing project and is currently in lots of pieces). I used cheap plastic wire loom to protect the wiring, and secured it with the original clips and cable ties.

One question I have, though, is has anyone opened the drainholes in the floor under the seats? I'd love to find a good plug and knock the tab out of those drains since that everytime I wash it I get water leaks and have no carpet to soak it up!

The hole for the body mount underneath the driver's left foot is the same size as the holes for the floor drains. I picked up four of the plastic plugs used to cover the body mount from a junkyard. Great fix, easy to remove, and looks factory with my black floor <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

In the pic above you can see one over the body mount, one in the center of the driver's tub, but the one underneath the driver's seat is not installed.

After moving to the wet side of Washington State, I noticed that my floors were always wet, and that there was always a musty smell in my Trooper. I finally got tired of it and ripped out all the carpet and padding. I actually really like it. It was already pretty loud in the car anyway because my shofter boots were all torn up, so no big deal there. I couldn't believe how shiny and new it looked under the carpet in the cargo area. I just have some rubber mats down, and never have a wetness problem anymore. I also like being able to pop out the four floor plugs and hose the car out after a muddy wheeling trip.
