I was going to the store earlier and when i press on the brake my parking prake light turns on. It only happens after it goes down below 25 MPH and stops at 5. I did tighten my parking break cable a while back, could i have gotten it too tight. The brakes work normal, the parking break engages and disengages. I rarely use the thing though. And its not enganged or partially engaged. Could it just be that something somewhere decided to develop a short? Im stumped on this one here. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Body Damage is Cool
Grimlins....
I have a friend with an 81 CJ7 that does the same thing from time to time. Your brake light switch should be part of the brake pedal assy. We never cured her problem, but it is working more than not these days....

Check the fluid level in the master cylinder. If it is low, it will cause the light to come on.
