Getting the Wheeling Fever
Which trans do you have? 904 or Mitsu auto? One is push and the other is pull IIRC.

Build your truck the head men say, but it must be built in such a way...

Although they claim the cable will fit, I couldn't figure it out! I believe others have made their own bracket to hold the cable. I just went without it for a couple of years.

Two MRI's and a CAT scan....it's confirmed. I'm just not right in the head.

I bought my automatic truck with a Weber already on it. The previous owner had fabricated a bracket to hold the end of the cable and it bolted on to the carb somewhere. Find some way to do this - do NOT go without hooking the cable up, as the transmission will not function properly and may explode and kill small furry animals...or something.

This is from my receipt for my Weber.

E1012 32/36 weber carb Mitsubishi
Not smog legal 83-89 2.0/2.6 $399.95

E-1009 Auto kickdown LKG E-1017/E-1012 $69.95

Montero 1999 Flyer Update Mitsubishi $0.00

This was from a:

I did not buy this directly, It all came w/ the Raider when I bought it. I just installed it all.

So yes there is a MFG kickdown kit for the 2.6L Weber conversion.
Carbs Unlimited
or
Redline Weber

They both sell some cool accessories for the Webers too
And Redline Weber sells add on FI kits too

I dunno, I heard this before too. But, like I said I used mine without the kickdown cable for several years (3 or 4) without any ill effects at all. I did "adjust" the cable for good shift points just by pulling it a bit. And I used the manual OD switch when needed.
But mine never exploded or even did anything strange in a few years......and it still works great. Although right now it is sitting on the floor of the garage, being replaced by a TH350.

By keeping the cable out a bit you raised the line pressure and the shift points. Having the line pressure up increases the pressure to the pistons that compress the clutches. Yours apparently was enough to prevent clutch slippage and burning out.

Its works but is not ideal, best to set it similar to the factory carb. I adapted the pulley from the carb to my throttle body. It took a little tweaking bit it does work.

A 350 lockup or std 350? If you ever drive on interstate. I would highly recommend a 350 lockup. You can rig it on a toggle switch or use a tp sensor. It will better your gas milage and lower your RPMs at hwy speeds.
I am wanting a 350 lockup or 700r4. I'll just upgrade the 700r4 as I see fit.
Believe it or not, when I was in the woods today, I saw a th250 under a tree. I might go get it for the parts.

Geez, at least for the case. Parts washers are the BEST!
