Getting the Wheeling Fever

I picked up a pair of factory manual hubs today to replace the autohubs on my "new" 84. I was excited to be getting them cheap ($20), but after tearing them down to rebuild, they've got some issues. One of the free wheel hub rings has a larger diameter opening on one hub than the other. There was a loose fitting ring inside it to adapt it to the size of the inner hub, and the inner hub has a few chunks missing from the ledge that holds the snap ring in place. The spacer behind the inner hub was also worn oddly, probably from the extra movement allowed by the loose free wheel ring. I was just wondering if anyone has replaced any inner parts of their hubs and how much it cost. It would work if I just reassembled it, but I don't know how long it would last. Also, where did you get your 54mm axle nut socket? I have an extra 88 hub (parts for two, but only one housing) if anyone wants to swap me for an 81-85 hub. (or some autohubs!)

Individual parts for the hubs are not available as far as I know. I've went top the dealer to try, but their parts diagram does not show any replaceable parts inside the hub.
You can get a 2 1/8" socket from Sears that will fit your 54mm nut just fine.

Thanks. Guess I'll be tracking down another hub and throw this one back together as a spare.
