Body Damage is Cool

Not that big of a deal for driving around in 2wd if you have manual hubs... But you'll tear your CV's up running around in 4wd or without manual hubs. Just as Frank's website says, they're not intended for running around cranked.

So Chris, are you saying that we need to "crank down" our T-bars if/when we put the Ball Joint Spacer in? That kind of defeats the purpose of it doesn't it?

OR... are you saying that we shouldn't "crank up" our T-bars after the Ball Joint Spacer? And if we had them previously in the "crank up" position we should put them back down..

Clarify please.

Thanks bud,
Joel

Yes, no, maybe...

You shouldn't crank up your t-bars after the BJ spacers... And if you had them previously cranked, you ought to let 'em down a bit.

I'm currently smack dab between my bumpstops, fender to wheel is at 18.5" (mind you thats with 3"bl & no fender trim). I could probably go up another .5-.75" without stressing about my CV's.

Guys, just so you all know when I just did my ball joint spacers there was no way that I could shim my shocks. I just got new KYB's about a month ago, and those things just weren't going to have it. I had to go back and luckily the guys at the 4x4 shop were cool about it and exchanged them for the same shock but for 0-2" lift. Those worked perfectly. So anyways, now I've got 16.5" of clearance in the front and 14.5" in the rear and the thing looks like a prerunner which I kindof like, but it's a little extreme. Do you think a 1" block in the rear would be easy and would it screw with anything or could I just stick-em in.

Doesn't get much simpler than a lift block. Sounds like you're a little high in the front though; May consider lowering it down a bit.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
4xGeek...that's 18.5" fender lip to wheel, 15" wheel with a 3" BL (and no fender trim)? just making sure...you think 18" with a 2" BL and fender trim would be too much?

what's stock height anyways? i cranked my torsions long time ago, didn't keep any measurements @ the time....

Yep... I'm currently at 18.5" between the fender lip to top of 15" wheel. However, I don't have the chrome trim on anymore (it's about .25", isn't it?) so factor that in. Like I said above, I'd still be comfortable with another .50"-.75" more, so your figures of 18" w/ your 2" bl sounds about right. Wouldn't go above that though... Do some trimming of the plastic (primarily to the rear of the fenderwell) and pound that body seam flat. That'll net you a good 1"+ of clearance.

I *think* it was usually around 14.5"... Anyone on here still running stock?

Oh! Oh! Me! Me! Guess I shouldn't be proud of that huh?

Driver's side is at 14" and passenger at 14.5". Good Memory Chris. I can't stand the tilt to the driver's side... I'm hoping the Tbars will take care of it. Problem is the rear end is actually a whole inch off between sides.

It's ok... Consider this a support group for your problem.

That much sag difference in the rear? Maybe try swapping the overload from side to side... See if that brings it closer to even?

I am interested in lifting my 96 T100 sr5 4x4 and this way intrigues me... A few questions though. Is it always required to have the shock spacer, I have es9000s that would also work with a 4inch lift. Do I need them? if so what material? Is this just a cheaper way to get 33"s on? (rather than full suspension lift) Do you notice the lift? Input appreciated.
