Mudrunner
Many people make their own leaf springs for the front and have good results. Also, many people use 63 inch (pretty sure 63 inch) chevy springs on the rear and apparently they ride very nice and flex very well also. I'm sure more people will chim in. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

I'm between toyotas right now... 3rd Gen 4-runner soon.

Body Damage is Cool
Marlin, All Pro, Downey, Rough Country, Rancho, Pro Comp...

it goes on and on. Everybody's gonna have an opinion, although around here you will be steered away from all but the first two on the above short list. The catch with those guys is that you have to alter other stuff to get 'em to fit...Now somebody else will chime in and tell me I'm a dumba**, and that you should build your own. The possibilities are endless. I can tell you I have Marlins, they ride as good as my IFS did before I did the swap, but they are too long for your '85 without other mods. Have I succeded in only confusing you further?

Also depends on if you want to get some lift from them or not. I just picked up some stock length JC Whitney springs for cheap. Installing them this weekend. I hear from people on this board and some locals that they are decent.

Also OME (Old Man Emu) makes a nice ~2" lift spring and shock combo. Everyone that I know that has that setup really likes it. This '85 is running them w/ 31x10.50 tires:
