Time for a new filter. The front fitting is no problem. The rear fitting is not coming loose. I am trying not to strip this thing, but it is fighting me. I am using a line wrench and it is even threatening to strip it. I have soaked this thing in PB. No luck. Any ideas? This is on an 88 runner V-6

That is unusual, most of the time it is the front one that does not come loose. According to my neighbor who is a lead tech they were over-torqued from the factory and the threads are screwed up. If you do get it loose, most of the time, it will not seal right on the new filter. What do they do, replace the line!!! Sorry to be the barer of bat news. If you do get it loose and you have the right threading die you could try chaseing the threads!!!

I sorta expected something like that. I guess it's time to add that little "life experience" to my resume. LOL
thanks
