Need a Spot
Ive got a 87 4runner with the 22re, its got nwor headers performance injectors, k&n intake and filter, and nwor 2.25 exhaust. Ive got two main problemes one the check engine light comes on after driving, it comes up as the ox sensor. If i get off the gas and let it get down to idle speed or punch it the light goes out. Ive replaced the sensor and it made no difference. It isn't that big of a deal it just bugs me and may be related to my second probleme.
The engine idles well when cold but just before it warms up it startes to wander up and down about 200 rpm. It also has a faint backfire when I get off the throttle and get back on it. I've replaced the egr, pcv, dist. cap, plugs n wires, set the timing as best I could with it idling so poorly, checked tps, water temp sensor, run seafoam cleaner through it, and fuel injection cleaner in the gas. Its been going on for about a year now. Ive just compensated by turning the idle up to about 1100 rpm. PS it's not the fuel cutoff because it does it even worse the lower the idle gets? Any ideas <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Check your TPS setup to make sure it's spot-on. Also inspect the condition of the sensor harness; they get a bit torn up.

Specs on 4Crawler's site.
