Need a Spot
I'm looking to buy some new rear axles for my son's 4Runner. But it seems that the only place I can find using google is All Pro. Is there any other palce to buy new axles? I'm new at this so I don't know where the best buys are yet.

Thanks in advance for the help.

You talking just axle shafts? If so, you want an upgraded one or just a stock replacement?

Or are you talking about the 3rd member? Or the whole axle, housing and all?

www.marlincrawler.com is a good source

I'm sorry but I mean just the axle shafts. I'm going to modify the rear end with an toyota e-locker. So do I need more than stock?

See I told you I'm new at this.

Thanks

Stock axle shafts will work fine w/ the e-locker, unless you are planning to run really tall tires (37"+), then upgraded shafts are an option.

I have a pair of used '87-vintage rear axle shafts for sale
that are in good condition. Contact me if interested.

I believe that Marlin sells the same shafts as All-Pro, they are aftermarket chromoly shafts. Stock shafts are surprisingly strong though, they regularly hold up to 37+ tall tires without problems. This is not the first thing I would spend my money on.

Yea, I say run the stockers untill you blow one up. You'll be surprised at their strength.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
and for what you would spend on a set of chromolly's you could buy a complete rear housing and have all the spare parts.
or you could just save the dough for a solid axle swap for up front.
www.marlincrawler.com
www.sky-manufacturing.com
www.frontrangeoffroadfab.com
and there are several others
polyperformance
longfeilds
superior axles
I run a detroit and 35x15.5x15 tsl's and have a 220+hp buick 4.1 v6 in mine and have yet to have any broken rear parts. I've destroyed four transmissions and the shafts have held up fine.
I've certainly never been easy on them
disk brakes conversion
some other mod like a winch or something would be a better option
unless your running 40's or something
around our area SC they stand up to 38.5 and 40's all the time since the wheeling is a little different around here. lots of mud.
